- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together your softened butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Once cool enough to handle, drizzle with caramel sauce.
- Slice and serve on its own or with whipped cream.
Notes
This cake can be made a day in advance, and leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
