Description

A festive treat combining the sweet flavor of candy canes with creamy homemade ice cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Chocolate syrup (for drizzling)
  • Additional crushed candy canes (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Soften the vanilla ice cream at room temperature.
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened ice cream with crushed candy canes and peppermint extract.
  3. Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the lined loaf pan and smooth the top.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  6. Once frozen, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Remove the log from the pan, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and sprinkle with additional crushed candy canes.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Store the log in the freezer for up to two weeks. Prepare up to a week in advance for holiday gatherings.
