A festive treat combining the sweet flavor of candy canes with creamy homemade ice cream.
Ingredients

- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup crushed candy canes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Chocolate syrup (for drizzling)
- Additional crushed candy canes (for decoration)
Instructions
- Soften the vanilla ice cream at room temperature.
- In a large bowl, combine softened ice cream with crushed candy canes and peppermint extract.
- Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap.
- Transfer the mixture into the lined loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours.
- Once frozen, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Remove the log from the pan, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and sprinkle with additional crushed candy canes.
- Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Store the log in the freezer for up to two weeks. Prepare up to a week in advance for holiday gatherings.
