- 14 oz smoked sausage (Andouille or Kielbasa, sliced)
- 1.5 cups white rice (Long grain, uncooked)
- 3 cups chicken broth (Low sodium)
- 1 medium yellow onion (Diced)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (Adjust to taste)
- 3 tbsp honey (For glaze)
- 3 cloves garlic (Minced)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (For umami)
- 1 tbsp butter (Unsalted)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (Chopped garnish)
Instructions
- Sear sliced sausage in a large skillet until dark golden brown; remove to a plate.
- Sauté onion in the drippings, then add rice and Cajun seasoning; toast for 2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth, bring to boil, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until tender.
- Whisk honey, garlic, and soy sauce. Stir into cooked rice with butter and sausage.
- Toss until coated and glossy; garnish with parsley before serving.
