Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (Room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa powder (Sifted)
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chunks (Fold in)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (Sifted)
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Brown butter in a light-colored saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly as it melts, foams, and browns. When golden and nutty, remove from heat and cool 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk the cooled brown butter with both sugars until combined, then add eggs one at a time until glossy. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Sift cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the wet mixture and fold gently. Fold in chocolate chunks.
  4. Spread batter into a parchment-lined pan and bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until edges set and center slightly jiggles.
  5. Cool completely in the pan for at least 2 hours (or overnight). Chill 30 minutes before slicing for clean cuts.
