Description

Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole with sausage, hash browns, eggs, and homemade gravy. A savory, satisfying meal for family breakfasts or special occasions. Easy to make, hearty, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can of Biscuits (cut into quarters)
  • 1 (26 oz) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for gravy)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for gravy)
  • 2 cups milk (for gravy)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (for gravy)
  • ½ tsp onion powder (for gravy)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up. Once fully cooked, set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter, stir in flour, and cook until it forms a roux. Gradually add milk, whisking until thickened. Add garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread thawed hash browns on the bottom, layer cooked sausage on top, and then place quartered biscuits on top. Sprinkle shredded cheese.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over the casserole.
  5. Pour the gravy over the casserole evenly.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Let rest before serving.

Notes
