Description

Air Fryer Apple Fries are a delicious and healthy treat. Enjoy crispy apple wedges with a sweet cinnamon coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Cut them into thin wedges or strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Set up breading station: In one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the apple wedges: First, dip each apple wedge in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, coat it in the egg mixture, followed by the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring each piece is well covered.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange in air fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the apple fries in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Cook the apple fries for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. They should be golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once done, remove the apple fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
