Description
Air Fryer Apple Fries are a delicious and healthy treat. Enjoy crispy apple wedges with a sweet cinnamon coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 2 large eggs
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Wash and core the apples. Cut them into thin wedges or strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Set up breading station: In one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and breadcrumbs.
- Coat the apple wedges: First, dip each apple wedge in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, coat it in the egg mixture, followed by the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring each piece is well covered.
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Arrange in air fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the apple fries in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook the apple fries for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. They should be golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the apple fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with caramel sauce for dipping.
- Try different apple varieties for unique flavors.
